About Gonstead

Dr. Clarence Gonstead, the founder of the Gonstead technique, transitioned from being a biomechanical engineer to a chiropractor driven by personal success in overcoming juvenile rheumatoid arthritis through chiropractic care.

Graduating in 1923 with the influential "Crusaders" class, he delved into the biomechanics of the spine, dissecting over 200 cadavers to comprehend spinal anatomy. Recognizing the spine's vulnerability to rotation-induced misalignment, Dr. Gonstead emphasized the importance of precise adjustments to alleviate nerve irritation. His dedicated research culminated in a specific approach, attracting a global clientele to his groundbreaking 22,000-square-foot clinic in Mt. Horeb, Wisconsin, the world's first standalone chiropractic clinic.

Committed to sharing his knowledge, he initiated the Gonstead Seminar to train other practitioners, ensuring the continuity of his unique, results-oriented care worldwide. Dr. Gonstead's legacy endures through the seminar, upholding his dedication to patient well-being and the advancement of chiropractic principles.
